Air Commodore S. K. Ghotia joined National Defense Academy in 1978. He was commissioned in the Indian Air Force as Fighter Pilot in 1981 and has flown over 3000 hours on various aircrafts. During his career, Cmdr. Ghotia has held varied staff and command appointments. He has also served as a Senior Operations Staff in Western Command and been a Station Commander of a Forward Air Base. He was awarded Vishist Seva Medal (Presidential Award) on 26th January 2008. Cmdr. Ghotia is presently serving as Air Attaché at Embassy of India, Paris.
Mr. Denis Schirmann is presently Marketing and Sales General Manager for India in Dassault Aviation. He is graduated from the Aeronautics and Space Superior Institute. He has held over the last 25 years various positions in the field of military aeronautics: design office, flight testing, and technical counsel to the Air Forces, program management, contract negotiation and international partnerships. He is now in charge of the negotiation of the Rafale contract with the Government of India; in the frame of the MMRCA (Medium Multi-Role Combat Aircraft) tender.
During this presentation, Cmdr. Ghotia will trace a history of the defence cooperation, the present mechanisms of defence cooperation and joint exercises being conducted between the two countries. He will also briefly overview the on-going defence projects between India and France.
Mr. Schirmann will provide an overview of the long-term involvement of Dassault Aviation company in India, and highlight the main on-going and future scope of work, such as the Rafale programme, within open information. |
